JCL started its management consultancy business in 1987, with a focus on management and simplicity where possible.  The JCL ethos is to get the facts, find practical but thorough solutions and systems, and then implement and manage these systems to make sure they work.

JCL’s activities in the Energy sector started in 1991 through engagement in projects for buildings and generation (particularly on the financial and contractual aspects and in working closely with the engineers to tie all aspects together).  Commencement of freedom to contract energy supplies ("contestability") in 1995 instigated what is now JCL’s core business.  The growing complexity of energy supply arrangements, ongoing regulatory changes and resulting client demands for support have seen JCL’s business in this sector continue to grow.

JCL has invested in the development of many systems to add value - that we see through client eyes.  We experience very low turnover with our clients as a result of the high level of service we provide.

JCL is 100% independent from all energy suppliers and retailers. We do not receive commissions/similar fees, and we are not subject to preferences or referral agreements. As such, JCL and its consultants are completely focused on clients’ needs and interests.
